First of all thank you very much for the contribution and effort. We really appreciate it.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on the point of view) DUNE is not only running on your laptop and PC that 
always has the latest tools installed, but also on supercomputers like IBM's Blue Gene. The latter has only automake
version 1.9.x installed and I guess some guys (inlcuding myself) want to to work on such machines.

Therefore your request has to wait some time (read some years).

BTW: I am assuming that your patch is not backwards compatible.
