Hi Dune,
the log entry for r6874 of dune-common (July 2012) states, that you may not
AC_REQUIRE the metis check as it would hold configure on failure:
r6874 | mblatt | 2012-07-26 21:49:02 +0200 (Thu, 26 Jul 2012) | 3 lines
Slightly modified patch by Andreas Lauser. (requiring metis is an
error as it would have halted configure)
Looking into the m4 script, this does not seem to be true; the default
behavior is to just warn in this case. This is confirmed by the log entry for
revision 3443 (November 2005!):
r3443 | mblatt | 2005-11-16 14:43:49 +0100 (Wed, 16 Nov 2005) | 2 lines
Default is niw to warn if metis is mot present.
Before messing anything up, I would like to know whether you may or may not
AC_REQUIRE the metis check. If you may not, I would like to know how we are
going to avoid calling this check multiple times (in one configure, of course).
Thanks for any help.
Best,
Martin
