Hi,
there was just the announcement that SOCIS 2014 will take place this
year again. It is a program similar to Google Summer of Code but
projects have to show that they have an applicability to space. With
DUNE being a framework for solving PDEs this should be a piece of
cake, I guess. Of course it is much smaller, last year 23 projects and
the same number of students were funded.
The expected timeline is
April: Kick-off, mentors apply
Mid-April: Selection of projects (ESA)
May: Students apply
15 May Selection of students (Mentors + ESA)
June-August (3 months) Coding period
Maybe we could apply for it this year. I would expect that we get one
student max which means that it will not be that much effort all (or
at least the usual suspects) are helping. If you are interested in
helping out, please yell.
Cheers,
Markus
