A couple of years ago, I discussed with Lawrence Mitchell and we
realized, that with some tricks we can use FIAT outside the
specification and use it to create expressions that are suitable to
generate C++ code for our LFE implementation.

yes, we never managed to boil this down to nice interfaces, but the
question is, whether this is suitable to a GSOC project. Might be a
bit too much math involved...
