Hi Simon.
Thanks for testing - I would prefer not to mess with the release branch anymore before release except for
bugs. Those fixes are quite minimal but stil...
Thanks again
Andreas

I tested the release candidate and it worked quiet smoothly.

There is just a small warning in uggrid part of dune-grid that is removed by dune-grid!646 (not sure whether it is worth to be backported to release 2.9) Another warning in alberta is removed by dune-grid!647. Those are minor warnings shown in -Wall mode. Except from this, it worked nicely.

Best,
Simon

Hi,
Thanks to everyone who had a look at the release candidate. We haven't so far heard of any issues.
If we don't hear of any showstopper, we would complete the release towards the middle/end of this week.
Best wishes
Robert and Andreas

Hi.

The first release candidate for the upcoming 2.9 release is now available for all core modules.

As usual, it is tagged as v2.9.0rc1 on gitlab, tarballs on the webpage are available, and in addition

we have uploaded pypi packages which should also be suitable to test downstream C++ based code against an installation of the core modules using pip install --pre dune-grid==2.9.0rc1

Please test, and report any problems that you encounter

Robert and Andreas
