I see the same symptoms and am affected by them in another project.

Just for the record, it'd be good to have a 2.3.1 release to distribute dune-common commit cb5be0f too.

Subject: [dune-pdelab] Problem with AMG and 2.3.0 release of core modules

Hi everyone,

I have just tried to build PDELab and the Howto on top of the 2.3.0 release of the core modules.
Unfortunately, AMG seems to be broken due to FS#1431. I get the error in the attached log, both
when running „make check“ on dune-pdelab and when doing a regular build of dune-pdelab-howto.

I don’t really have an idea of what is going wrong there, the commit that resolved the problem in
the core modules seems to tell me that the underlying problem was just an over-eager removal of
a function parameter that wasn’t used all the time and that simply got reverted later on.

I don’t know whether we can work around the problem in PDELab, as the error happens somewhere
deep inside the AMG code. Markus, do you have an idea?

Otherwise I would suggest doing a 2.3.1 release of the core modules before the PDELab release.
Having a new PDELab 2.0, but not being able to use AMG together with the current release of the core
modules probably isn’t a very good idea…

Steffen
