Hi everyone,
The Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing at Heidelberg University will host its annual
DUNE and PDELab course on March 6-10, 2017.
### Contents
This one week course provides an introduction to the most important DUNE modules and especially to
DUNE-PDELab. At the end the attendees will have a solid knowledge of the simulation workflow from
mesh generation and implementation of finite element and finite volume methods to visualization of the
results. Topics covered are the solution of stationary and time-dependent problems, as well as local
adaptivity, the use of parallel computers and the solution of non-linear PDEs and systems of PDEs.
### Exercises
Each participant will get a USB stick with a VirtualBox VM containing a working installation of DUNE and
the course exercises. Your laptop should fulfil the following minimum requirements:
- 2 Cores
- 4 GB RAM
- 64 bit operating system
- Current version of VirtualBox (http://virtualbox.org)
On some laptops, VirtualBox will only work after enabling Virtualization (VT-d) in the BIOS. If you don't
know what that means, we can help you during the first exercise session.
If you do not have a laptop that you can bring, please let us know when you sign up; we have a limited
number of laptops available here in Heidelberg.
