[Dune] error installing svn-version of dune, "configure: error: pkg-config is required for using installed modules"

Dear Dune,
I would like to try to work with the svn-version of dune, because then
dune-disk package (the possibility to define hierarchical bases and basis
sets in general)
could be used for the implementation of local discontinuous Galerkin
methods (LDG) for nonlinear
convection-diffusion equations, that we would like to do.
Could you please kindly help me with the following error appering while
installing the dune via svn on MAC OS X 10.5 Leopard.
The configuration ./dune-common/ bin/dunecontrol all
fails, the last lines of diagnostics and future commands corresponding to
pkg-config are as follows:
