FS#661 - Use Python to evaluate function strings
User who did this - Oliver Sander (sander)

I think that having the possibility to parse and evaluate an expression given as a string could be helpful for many purposes. The extra functionality could either be coded directly in Dune (possibly a lot of work) or by linking to an external library (a new dependency). For the latter there several options, and one of them is Python. Carsten wrote a wrapper for Python that does evaluation of expressions in strings, and it is not nearly as bad as he makes believe. It is there for anyone to try.
