To conclude a small privat discussion:

Enclosing iterators in a seperate scope leads to much cleaner code. The question is if we want to force the user to do this (in contrast to the STL). Possible solutions:
1) Disallow existence of iterators if adapt() is called and add this to the docs.
2) Allow this and change behaviour of ALU3DSimplex grid.

Regarding 1) the question arises if this should apply to all stored EtityPointers as well.

Further developer opinions are wellcome.
