I have

$ doxygen --version
1.5.1

so that might be the reason.  Still

passing command line parameters like I showed earlier did result in the
correct BLAS and LAPACK libraries being picked up (see attached type
script).  I suppose I was merely (un)lucky in this respect, then?

Very well, I will write option files to dunecontrol.
