The following task has a new comment added:

FS#766 - Separate GenericGeometries and the SmallObjectPool

Ok, I added a new type of allocator to dune-common: PolyAllocator. It behaves similar to a STL allocator, but is able to construct objects of arbitrary type (template argument). Obviously, this concept might need further discussion and I hope those more familiar with STL techniques can provide some more insight.

Some questions that I would ask are:
- Is it possible to use an STL allocator to implement this interface (without allocating objects of the same size for everything, as suggested by Oliver)?
- Is there already some similar concept in DUNE that we could use instead?

This allocator technique is now used to construct generic geometries (Oliver, you might have to adapt UG to this change).
