Not really -- most of the time dofs are associated with subentities of an
element, but not with a particular position within that subenetity.  You can
get at (an index of) the subentity assiciated with a dof.  For node-based
finite elements the position of the node is the position of the dof, but for
other finite elements (edge-, face- and cell-based) this does not help you.

What do you want to do?  Do you want to make sure that finite element object
of neighboring grid elements have matching dofs at the interface?  That is
something the finite element map should do for you, and it uses a-priory
information about the particular finite element class to do that.  This is the
reason why there are different finite element map classes for different local
finite element classes.
