I'll simply address the questions by the same labels (a-c) as Oliver:
a) You wanted to be able to change the allocator. Now it is possible.
b) I request that Carsten implements the interface of PolyAllocator through his suggestion (the interface is so trivial that there should be no problem)
c) Simply use the Polyallocator in GeometryGrid (instead of the SmallObjectAllocator).

Just to state the problem again: The GenericGeometries need an allocator for dynamic polymorphism.

Maybe we should simple consider the solution of moving the wrappers that make the CornerMapping a Geometry to the GeometryGrid. This way, everybody can (ok, catually has to) implement support for hybrid geometries anyway he likes best.
