I just grepped through ALBERTA 3.0 and did not find the symbol. Could you please check with that version (there is a release candidate available for public download).

Removing such a function from the library would mean an invasion into ALBERTA's native code. Unlike with UG, we did not do such a thing for ALBERTA. Personally, I consider this an advantage to the user (read: at least me). Hence, I'm very reluctant to do such a thing.

So, if this problem is gone in  ALBERTA 3.0, I suggest to leave this a known issue. From Peter's introductory words I gather that he has a patch for ALBERTA 2.0.1. Maybe he can append this to this task. We could also add it to the installation instructions for ALBERTA, if desired. But before doing such a thing, we should know the affected versions and we should clearly state that it is only necessary when using ALBERTA and SuperLU together, which is probably done by few people.
