The configure check in the trunk does not check for GMP. if $with_gmp = no. This does not seem to be the case in the 2.0 release. The patch should be merged to the 2.0.1. I would kindly ask the release managers to do this.  Moreover, this bug should be marked a known issue for the 2.0 release.
