I agree with Markus, the default should be verbose. Nevertheless I think we should update the buildsystem accordingly. I still habe a few questions:

* Is the patch to dunecontrol all that is necessary?
* Is it possible to easily switch between silent and non-silent mode without recompiling?
* (more of a comment...) When adding silent-rules, we should replace the silent-mode in "make header-check" with the usual one.
