MMh. There are no compilations in the logs. The logs would have made more sense from a clean dune-common.

So basically it strips how the compilation is done and just tells me that now an object/library of that name is built.

Personally I sometimes have the situation that I want to take a look at exactly this output to see what flags where used 
(and e.g. if I have really activated MPI). Therfore I would not use it and do not want to have silent mode as default.

IMHO there is the danger that processing bugreports becomes for cumbersome:
USer: Hey, dune does not work
Developer: Please send my a log from the build process
User sends it, but used silent mode.
Developer: Grr. You are using silent mode, please activate noisy mode and resend.
User: Grrr. So much work. How do I activate noisy mode? Grr, have to run this long DUNE build process again ,.,,
