It is indeed possible that I added the inversion methods to check what works and what does not. In this case I suggest to simply remove them (sorry, if I messed this up).

@Christian: What do you mean by semi-lagrangian code? What kind of assertions do you mean?

@Oli: I don't remember: Was the problem with the determinant resolved in an adequate manner?
