Carsten is right. If the macrogrid is non-conforming, there is no level of nonconformity. Maybe the method conforming could simply return an enum (something like conforming, insideConforming, outsideConforming, nonConforming)? Unfortunately, only conforming should convert to 'true', which is not possible with an enum.
