I'd also vote in favor and I like entities() and intersections(). But we then must also guarantee that creating the entities object is cheap, so that one can safely call entities().begin().
Regarding the deprecation: If we deprecate lbegin/lend/leafbegin/leafend we would have to guarentee that creating the same gridview several times is cheap for the standard gridviews. Otherwise people will have to do severe changes to their applications in order to cache grid views themselfes.
