Hi Christoph,
I am not sure whether we really want the two last items.
Release notes for a maintenance release will either consist
of a short 'contains plenty of bugfixes', or a long list
enumerating those fixes.  Who will write the list?  And
how many users really care?  I propose to treat 2.1.1
as a simple update of the 2.1 release branch (as opposed
to a separate release), to avoid bureaucracy.
