Thanks a lot for your reply. I hope that I can resolve all vagueness with this post.

In order to reproduce the bug (gentoo system, gcc 4.4.6, doxygen version 1.7.5.1):

I checkout the latest dune common release
  https://svn.dune-project.org/svn/dune-common/branches/release-2.1

I then call (without any config.opts)
  > ./dune-common/bin/dunecontrol all

This works fine. I then do
  > cd dune-common
  > make dist

This causes an infinite loop. I attached the screen output of < make dist > to this comment (interrupting the infinite looping at some point). As I posted in my original report, I observed a similar problem with dune-istl. In the meantime, I also tried doxygen 1.7.3 - the problem stays the same.

The problem does not occur with the trunk version of dune-common (instead of the release version 2.1.2).
