A nice overview of IDE support is found here:
http://www.cmake.org/Wiki/CMake_Editors_Support
Basically everything under the sun is supported, with excellent support in Kdevelop4:
http://kdevelop.org/tags/cmake

A couple of great advantages with cmake:
-Many programmers are already familiar with it, and there is a huge chance you will encounter it on your next project too.
-It makes out-of-tree builds a breeze.
-Dune is not about making and maintaining build environments, cmake will hopefully relieve more resources to focus on improving Dune functionality.
-Cmake will make it easier to include Dune when building other projects.
