Okay, thanks, I understand that. How would that work in a Visual Studio environment for example?

In our CMake build system, we also manage projects consisting of several "modules" (shared libraries). The inter-module dependencies are managed by CMake implicitly. For multiple projects with cross-project inter-module dependencies we use some CMake machinery and custom CMake macros to handle the dependencies (transparent for the user). I guess that would be the analogy to dunecontrol, but realized within CMake itself.
