I don't think the vote for the long term solution did yield a definite answer.  I suggest to leave this task open for another week, and if nobody wants to restart the vote, close it and keep the status quo (e.g. solution a)).

In case a new/restarted vote decides b), I'm volunteering.  In it decides c), I'm going to do a separate module anyway, it just will be a more-or-less private module of mine, then.
