@Christoph: good news, the ALUGrid class is already contained in the release :-D since it has been in the trunk for quite some time now. To merge the deprecation of the old types makes indeed no sense, since it required some changes. 

However, it would be good if you could test the ALUGrid classes in the release (I think the test-alugrid already uses these), just in case. There is a docu bug I know of and I think it makes sense to merge this one. I will send the revision number.
