[Dune] Wrapper classes in the literature

Dear Dune,
I am writing something about the Dune grid interface, and in particular on
how we use wrapper classes to hide the implementations from the user.
Has anybody seen this technique described in the literature somewhere?
Any link to a (citeable) source would be very welcome.
