<p>in DGF files the "parameters" argument specifies how many
parameters follow after the vertex indices.</p>
<p>So in both your examples the first two numbers will be the vertex
indices forming the 1D simplex and the</p>
<p>following 2 or 4 numbers will be some parameters associated with
the simplex element.</p>
