You are probably right about that. Having a clean release branch and
branching from that for an inofficial release with added features
would be an option of course but maybe not worth the time.

Intriguing. What do the other developers think about merging cmake
support to the trunk? Please comment at

So do you guys think we are already in shape for a 2.3 release?
If that really is the case, then I would opt for making a clean bugfix
release that only pulls in fixes were the branches did not diverge too
much, yet. (Maybe do an inofficial additional release for some clients
depending on the trunk state.) Afterwards I would merge the CMake
branch and start the 2.3 release process, which will probably take
more time than the bugfix release.
