According to the documentation there is not such thing. It reads:

Compile your programs using:

gcc -lmpi ...

Anyway, how is is our check for known MPI implementations deactivated,
if I set MPICC to an unknown MPI compiler (which still results in
dune_MPI_VERSION="unknown" and triggers the error) wonders
