Hi.
- Do we want to have a docker container for the 2.9 release? (and maybe do we want to kick out some old docker containers, e.g., for the 2.5/2.6 release?)
I can't answer that - not quite sure where containers with a fixed installed version are used at the moment?
- When to update the CHANGELOG.md files? After the final release, or already now?
We were planning on doing that with the final release of 2.9.0. Perhaps a reminder for everyone to go through the
Changelog file now and check that everything is in place.
Best
Andreas

Thank you both Andreas and Robert for preparing the release (candidate). I have seen so many MRs and commits in all the many modules. It is always a lot of work. Also, thanks to the others who have contributed.
Two questions:
- Do we want to have a docker container for the 2.9 release? (and maybe do we want to kick out some old docker containers, e.g., for the 2.5/2.6 release?)
- When to update the CHANGELOG.md files? After the final release, or already now?
Best,
Simon

Hi.
The first release candidate for the upcoming 2.9 release is now available for all core modules.
As usual, it is tagged as v2.9.0rc1 on gitlab, tarballs on the webpage are available, and in addition
we have uploaded pypi packages which should also be suitable to test downstream C++ based code against an installation of the core modules using pip install --pre dune-grid==2.9.0rc1
Please test, and report any problems that you encounter
Robert and Andreas
