If these pictures are only needed for documentation, than why are they
in the test directory? Is it possible to entirely create them on
demand?

Who does create this latex documentation? Is this only for doxygen
creating latex documentation? This is disabled by default so we do not
need to bother with this.
 
I think we should at least remove the eps files. These can easily be
created from the png's using convert. These eps files suck anyway!
They render _all_ faces in the grid and draw them from back to front
which takes increadibly long even on a modern machine.
