[Dune] Communication and topology ?

Dear Dune developers,
we have implemented a class derived from
CommDataHandleIF for communicating data associated with edges
(tetrahedra and ALUGrid). Now, this appears straighforward,
but let us assume an interprocessor boundary edge is shared by more
than two tetrahedra, which is well possible, then the question
arises: is the result of edge data exchange dependent on the
order of communication ? If this is the case, how can we change this ?
Do I miss something trivial ?
Thanks a lot for your comments, best regards, Benedikt
