I introduced two new typetraits

mutable_reference<R> and const_reference<R>. These typetraits are able to map between const and mutable references. This fixes the problems with generic_iterator.

Concerning the copy vs. reference quition for the distanceTo function. I don't see a reason not to use a const ref. I changed the code and it seems to work.
