In an editor 'ö' is not more readable than something like '?'
used if it does not support utf-8. But any reasonable editor will
support multiple encodings. For example recent versions of vim
or emacs detect the encoding automatically.

The only reason for the html entities would be to have a consistent
html documentation. But this could also be achived by specifying
the correct encoding in the html header.

I just checked the encoding in the generated html documentation:
If dune-web is present it is ISO-8859-1 (aka latin1) otherwise
its utf-8.
