Details - Currently, the SubsamplingVTKWriter segfaults due to the BasicType -> topologyId transition.  I suspect that a BasicType is being used as a topologyId somewhere when constructing a GeometryType.  Arian Ngo is working on this and should be ready around the end of the week.
