I attach the two corresponding dunecontrol outputs. Apparently, stamp-vc triggers the execution of the whole buildchain. 

The interesting part comes in the end: With stamp-vc the execution of 

/bin/sh /temp/bernd/DUMUXSVN/dune-common-2.0/missing --run autoheader

works, while without stamp-vc, the execution of 

/bin/sh /temp/bernd/DUMUXSVN/dune-common-2.0/missing --run aclocal-1.11 -I .

fails.
