Olaf is right: This is a major interface change for all grid developers. However, it does not affect the user.

For me, the question, whether this should be discussed on a developer meeting or not is not easy to answer. Basically, I'm in favor of a thorough discussion. I see two drawbacks of this approach, though:
a) It will cost us around half a year (the next meeting will not be before december)
b) I'm totally against a discussion unless at least two good proposals are made in advance.

On the other hand, I would volunteer to create a branch of the current trunk and implement a suggestion within this branch for further discussion. If no completely difference counterproposal is made, I see a chance that we can discuss this in the flyspray. What about the others?
