Jö is right, GenericGeometry::Geometry and GenericGeometry::LocalGeometry should go back into dune-grid.
Additionally GenericGeometry::GlobalGeometryTraits and GenericGeometry::LocalGeometryTraits should go back to dune-grid.
I propose to rename GenericGeometry::Geometry to GenericGeometry::GlobalGeometry to reflect its purpose which is described in the documentation as "generic implementation of a DUNE (global) geometry".

I want to get rid of the dune/grid/genericgeometry folder I would place the classes in dune/grid/common as genericgeometry.hh and genericgeometrytraits.hh.

To clarify the class names and because so many classes with geometry in their name exist, I wish to rename Geometry (from dune/grid/common/geometry.hh) to ElementGeometry (move to dune/grid/common/elementgeometry.hh).
