That is what my suggestion would be: lets find out who uses subentities
and for what. A few grids have never implemented them and people
seem to get along. One can always fake them (at least in the 
1A2B sense s. GeometryGrid). The only place the interface seems to require
them is in the communicate interface. 
But scatter(Entity<0> element, int c, int i) would perhaps do the job 
just as good.
So who uses subentities and for what?
