GlobalGeometryTypeIndex is a little bit more tricky to do in O(1), and isn't necessary for the purpose of iteration (you can always iterate over the dimensions, the iterate over the LocalGeometryTypeIndices).  Of course, there might be other uses, so if anyone wants to provide a patch...

I wasn't aware of the possibility to iterate over the reference element container -- that would have been quite sufficient for my purpose.  I assume that the patch is still wanted, I'll just be in less of a hurry to rush it in...
