Both of your comments are arguments for a branch:


1. Do not affect anyone: This means you will be able to merge the branch to the trunk with out any problem.

2. Currently not much time: If we put it in the trunk this would mean either postponing future release (they are too slow anyway!) or releasing not working functionaliy. The latter reduces the quality of DUNE and puts all the pressure onto the core developers.
