Your words were not harsh and I am in no way offended. I know it will be a lot of work but still I think it is worth the effort. And I am aware of the fact that when the time-consuming prototype will not convince enough people we'll stick to autotools.

Matthias: I second everything you said. Testing might be more helpful than what you may think. Still, we face a Chicken-and-egg problem.
