Hi Marco,

please have a look at

page 50 (the figure) and page 52 formula 3.1.
The twist describes the mapping of the face vertices onto the vertices
of the corresponding face in the reference element.
For hexas it ranges from -4 to 3 and for tetras from -3 to 2.
0 means no twist.

I hope that helps a bit. Don't don't have time to be more specific.
