Dear all,
I currently have an open PhD position within the Einstein Center for
Mathematics Berlin in project SE12 on 'Fast solvers for heterogeneous
saddle point problems'. You can find the job advertisement attached.
As the official job ad is german only you can find a short summery
below. Feel free to contact me if you have more questions. I'd be happy
if you forward this to possible candidates.
(Please mind the tight deadline: 2014-04-14.)
Best,
Carsten Gräser
Here's the summery:
* Full position paid according to E13 TV-L FU
* Located at Freie Universität Berlin
* Limited to 3 years, starting from 2014-06-01
* The project aims at the development of fast solvers for heterogeneous
linear saddle point problems occurring in the context of phase field
models and optimal control of PDEs. It covers development and
analysis of algorithms and their implementation using Dune.
* There will be a close cooperation with application oriented projects
in the Helmholtz Virtual Institute on thin film solar cells.
* As part of the joint research center ECMath/Matheon the project
offers the possibility to various cooperations with other sub-projects
at the participating institutions (FU Berlin, HU Berlin, TU Berlin,
WIAS, ZIB)
* Applicants should have a Diplom/Master in mathematic
or a comparable degree.
* Desirable skills: good knowledge on numerical methods for PDEs,
programming (preferably C++)
* Deadline for applications is 2014-04-14
* Applications should incorporate the key 'ECMath-2014-02 SE12'
and be sent to:
