Aha, I see! Ok, everything is much clearer now! 

I tried ./ldom_example test-uggmsh.cfg and got some sensible results

There should be example configfiles next to the program, try those:

test-alberta.cfg  test-ugfactory.cfg  test-uggmsh.cfg
