an an alternative for tetrahedral mesh input you can also use
this dune-grid compliant implementation:

http://www.curvilinear-grid.org/

curvilinear-grid

1) uses the Gmsh (www.geuz.org) tetrahedral mesh generator format

2) can use real world geometry using CAD systems and STEP file format
export.

3) offers curviliner tetrahedral elements

Therefore, you will enjoy a lot more geometrical flexibilit.
