Hi,

first of all I would like to apologize if some of my decisions annoy
you or others. On behalf of some aspiring GSoC students I am also
apologizing for posting the same or similar questions to this list and
other lists. I assumed that people are familiar with the netiquette. I
will inform people about the netiquette the next time. Seeing your
second email on this same topic, I am sure you can cut those being
unfamiliar with the netiquette some slack.

I was unsure how much traffic GSoc would create. We could have
used a new list, but I felt that this would have been quite some
work and was not sure whether this is the optimal way. (I am also
always unsure who actually is responsible for the mailinglists.)

The projects are supposed to be DUNE development and therefore using
the developer list seemed quite natural to me. To allow people to
filter the messages everybody was asked to use the GSoc tag. Actually,
this worked quite well.

Personally, I always appreciate if I have the chance to know what is
going on in DUNE and who is contributing to it without having to read
elsewhere.

But if other opinions differ, we can talk about it and use a dedicated
list next year.

Regards,

Markus
