[Dune-devel] GSoC

Hi all,
my request was sent only to the dune-devel list on purpose as it was addressed
purely to developers. If I were a GSoC student, I would also have sent any
eMail to both lists due to unclear regulations. All I was asking is a proper
clarification and the current (core) develoers respecting their own rules.
It is also possible that I have different view of what this list is intended
for. I understood that this list was for fast feed back (e.g., on commits) by
the developers / to the developers. For lenghty discussions on specific topics
or features we have a FlySpray (which is much more flexible for such things).
So my feeling is that the dune at dune-project.org mailing list would be the
proper place for most of the questions tagged GSoC.
I apologize if any GSoC student (or anyone else) misunderstood this intention.
Any (potential) contributor is definitely welcome to the project. However, we
have had a surprising interest in GSoC. While it is very interesting to take a
dedicated look at these discussions, they currently obfuscate all other
communication on our lists. This is an organizational problem caused by
ourselves. The intention was purely to drive the discussion to one of the two
mailing lists.
I also apologize for the slightly provoking tone of my second eMail. It was
intended to trigger the discussion. Personally, I would have expected the
first eMail to be sufficent.
Best,
Martin
PS: Sorry for the load of words. I hope now my intentions can no longer be
misunderstood.
